Focus Timer Pro does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Your timer settings are saved locally on your own device and never leave it.

Overview

Focus Timer Pro ("the Extension") is a Pomodoro productivity timer for Google Chrome. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension does and does not handle, and how the Chrome permissions it requests are used.

By installing the Extension you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.

Data stored locally on your device

The Extension saves the following information using chrome.storage.local — stored only on your device, never transmitted anywhere:

Focus session duration (default: 25 minutes)
Short break duration (default: 5 minutes)
Long break duration (default: 15 minutes)
Selected alarm sound (e.g. Beep, Bell, Chime)
Volume level (0–100%)
Number of focus sessions completed today
Current timer mode (focus / short break / long break)

This data is never sent to any server, third party, or external service. It exists only inside your browser and is deleted if you uninstall the Extension or clear browser data.

Permissions and why they are needed

storage

Save your settings locally Used exclusively to save timer durations, sound preferences, and session count to your local device via chrome.storage.local. No data is transmitted externally.

alarms

Keep the background timer alive Chrome may terminate background service workers after 30 seconds of inactivity. The alarms permission sends a periodic heartbeat to prevent this, ensuring your countdown continues accurately even when the popup is closed. No alarm data is collected or transmitted.

notifications

Alert you when a session ends A single desktop notification is shown when your timer reaches zero. Notifications are triggered only by your own timer actions. No notification content or interaction is tracked or transmitted.

Remote code

This Extension does not use any remote code. All JavaScript is bundled within the extension package itself. No external scripts, CDNs, iframes, or eval() calls are used. The Extension operates fully offline and makes zero network requests.

Third-party services

Focus Timer Pro does not integrate with, communicate with, or send any data to any third-party service, analytics platform, advertising network, or external API. There are no SDKs, trackers, or embedded services of any kind.

Children's privacy

Since the Extension does not collect any data from any user, it does not collect data from children under the age of 13 either. The Extension is safe for use by all age groups.

Changes to this policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be published at the same URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Since no data is collected, changes are expected to be minimal.
